Universities, tech companies, government departments. Lots of industries now deploy AI, so you could end up working in any number of fields, ie transport, entertainment, defence, communications, medicine etc.

Salary range

£30,000 – £95,000+

Skills you'll need

  • AI specialists need to be great with computers but also with humans, to figure out how to match the two up!
  • Must be highly technical and comfortable with computer science and data science
  • Proficient in coding languages such as Python, C++, Java etc
  • Pathways into AI include maths, physics, IT, cognitive science, neurology
