What you'll do

Basically, you do physics on a computer. You analyse large volumes of numbers to solve problems and test theories. Your work can be applied in the real world to any number of things, such as modelling flood risk or cleaning up chemical spills.

Where you'll work

In offices, in many different industries including finance, pharmaceutical, medicine, oceanography, materials science.

Salary range

Up to £75,000

Skills you'll need

  • Excellent maths and physics knowledge
  • Great at computers
  • Must enjoy looking at large amounts of data and figuring out what they mean
