What you'll do

Create stuff! Dream up new products and new ways of doing things.

Where you'll work

You could work for any kind of organisation – design consultancy, government agency, technology firm, construction company, product manufacturer. You will probably work in offices, in workshops, in factories, or anywhere your designs are deployed. There are so many possible pathways!

Salary range

£35,000 – £60,000

Skills you'll need

Must be good at design and technology
A head for maths and science, especially physics
A creative mind
A good listener
Should love working with your hands and solving problems
Will need to learn computer modelling packages
Probably a dab hand at DIY
