What you'll do

Analyse the technical and legal aspects of an invention in a patent application to check that it is genuinely new and unique. Patent examiners are the first to see the future!

Where you'll work

In an office, at either the Intellectual Property Office or the European Patent Office.

Salary range

£29,000 – £56,000

Skills you'll need

Technical knowledge
Generally need some experience or education in science or engineering
Good research and database search skills
Written communication skills
Foreign languages can be useful
