What you'll do

Bring thrills and joy to people! (OK…design, build and test roller coasters and other fairground rides).

Where you'll work

People who design roller coasters are usually mechanical engineers. You will generally work in an office on a computer but will also test your designs in studios and workshops and attend installation on-site at theme parks.

Salary range

£30,000 – £60,000+

Skills you'll need

  • Knowledge of physics, engineering, design and technology, materials science
  • Must be obsessive about safety!
